When does art begin? Where does art begin? What does art begin with?

With people. With an idea. With a place. But only in very special cases – with living in dorms.

People buy tickets to the Valmiera Summer Theatre Festival based on a promise and a word of honour – detailed annotation and the creative team. Such trust from the audience is moving. So moving that it's almost embarrassing to admit – we don't have much more to begin with either. Just an idea, a team and... dorms.

Nothing happens here as usual.

Nothing is just so when you are sharing not only intellectual judgements with a colleague, but also dishes and a place to sleep. The thoughts and works of artists who have been released into the wild are woven together into an undecipherable web, proving that the greatest art is the art of living together. Being side by side, talking, experiencing, listening and celebrating life.

For ten years, all this has been absorbed not only by the walls of the Jānis Enkmanis motel, but also by its invisible, irreplaceable fairies – the superintendents. Witnesses to drama, joy, sadness, intoxication, love and destruction (mostly of flowerbeds).

The performance is based on true stories, legends and tales, collected and experienced over a period of 10 years.
